EngAGEment Initiative Announced

The EngAGEment Initiative (click to view RFP) is entering a new phase as GIA seeks to increase awareness and increase funding for our aging population. With the generous support of The Atlantic Philanthropies and in partnership with Regional Associations for Grantmakers, GIA has introduced new opportunities for funders to get involved in aging-related grantmaking.

GIA plans to reach the majority of the thirty-plus regions in the U.S. through this collaborative and creative venture, significantly impacting local funding levels and focus, while accelerating the spread of innovation and best practices on aging within the philanthropic community. The deadline for submission of proposals has been extended. New dates--proposals must be postmarked by May 9, 2008 and grant awards will be announced by June 18, 2008.

GIA provides a personal connection for its members to key people, high quality resources and state-of-the art ideas about aging and all issues related to aging. The centerpiece of GIA's programming is its Annual Conference. Grantmakers In Aging (GIA), is dedicated to promoting and strengthening grantmaking for an aging society and is the only international professional organization of grantmakers active in the field.

Membership

GIA's membership includes leading staff and trustees from all sizes and types of grantmaking organizations involved directly or indirectly with aging.
