Understanding & Changing the Way Americans Think about Aging
A "Conversations with GIA" webinar
In this webinar, FrameWorks researchers presented the results of the first six months of a larger project designed to reframe the public conversation about aging and older Americans. Researchers described project goals, then presented an expert "untranslated" story and discussed the models of public understand as well as expert perspectives, to locate the key communications challenges that must be addressed by reframing strategies. The research was developed by a collaborative of the following eight national aging organizations: AARP, the American Federation for Aging Research, the American Geriatrics Society, the American Society on Aging, Grantmakers In Aging, the Gerontological Society of America, the National Council on Aging and the National Hispanic Council on Aging. It was supported by grants from: AARP, The Atlantic Philanthropies, Rose Community Foundation, The Retirement Research Foundation, The John A. Hartford Foundation, Archstone Foundation and The Fan Fox/Leslie R. Samuels Foundation.
