An Aging Services Perspective

A "Conversations with GIA" webinar

This webinar looked at the 5.5 million military caregivers supporting our nation's wounded warriors. With the rapidly growing population of Vietnam Era veterans 65 years and older, as well as parents and grandparents now supporting those injured in Iraq and Afghanistan, this is increasingly a concern for the broader aging network. Discussion included the challenges in the lives of these "Hidden Heroes", emerging programs and services, and the role that foundations can play in helping to end their isolation and desperation. Presenters: Steven Schwab, Executive Director, Elizabeth Dole Foundation; Jed Johnson, Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, Easter Seals headquarters. Moderator: John Feather, CEO, Grantmakers In Aging. Webinar date: June 9, 2015. View it at https://youtu.be/Eqg8qqNM9Nc.
