The Sequester's Impact

A webinar from Grantmakers In Aging

In a “lame duck” session after the 2012 election, Congress considered decisions of great concern to seniors and those who serve them. If Congress did not pass a bipartisan plan to reduce the federal deficit by the end of the 2012, the nation would be faced with drastic, automatic, across-the-board spending cuts starting on January 2, 2013. This webinar discussed the possible impact and what could be done to protect older adults. Presenters: Howard Bedlin, Vice President for Public Policy and Advocacy at the National Council on Aging; Marci Phillips, Director, Public Policy and Advocacy at the National Council on Aging; and Nancy Zweibel, Senior Program Officer of the Retirement Research Foundation. Special thanks to our sponsor, The John A. Hartford Foundation. Webinar date December 5, 2012. View the recording at https://youtu.be/y3Hd0LVzZdY.
