Medicare Spends More on Socially Isolated Older Adults

Social isolation is a proven risk factor in the health and well-being of older adults. Growing concerns about these risks are now being validated with financial data that highlights the impact on health care. This study from AARP’s Public Policy Institute and Stanford University’s Center on the Demography and Economics of Health and Aging examined Medicare spending data, to prove the link between social connection and health.
