Welcome to Grantmakers In Aging!
Aging is living!
Grantmakers In Aging (GIA) is a member organization made up of funders of every type across the nation and around the world, dedicated to serving our aging population. GIA's mission is to promote and strengthen grantmaking for an aging society. Our member funders know that aging touches every aspect of life, from transportation to livable communities, from retirement to second - or third - careers, from palliative care to "grandfamilies," from housing to healthcare. Many foundations that don't consider themselves primary funders in aging often find that they do in fact make grants that improve the lives of older adults.
If you are a grantmaker, consider the impact of funding a segment of the population that is continually growing and changing the fabric of our world. Join us!

New GIA Member Service
Philanthropy In/Sight is the Foundation Center's new data visualization platform designed to help grantmakers and others understand the impact of philanthropy globally, nationally, or at regional and local levels. Members must be logged in to access information on the ReCAP page.
EngAGEment Initiative
With the generous support of The Atlantic Philanthropies, the EngAGEment Initiative partners GIA with Regional Associations of Grantmakers to introduce grantmakers to the many needs of our aging population. GIA is now seeking to expand this network of Regionals engaging in education and awareness activities designed to increase grantmaking focused on aging.
GIA is accepting proposals from Regionals interested in planning, developing and implementing activities that encourage local area funders to take an active interest in aging issues. Successful applicants will receive up to $30,000 in grants over two years and will be required to secure matching funds from local funders. Throughout the Initiative, grantees will have access to technical assistance, materials and networking meetings sponsored by GIA. Any member of the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers that has not previously received an EngAGEment Initiative grant is invited to submit proposals for funding. More…
